How To Instruct A Member

Owusu & Partners Global provides access to leading barristers and specialist lawyers across the United Kingdom, Africa, Middle East, Caribbean, and beyond. Whether you require strategic legal advice, regulatory guidance or specialist advocacy in complex domestic or cross-border matters, our Associate Members provide legal services across our core practice areas and beyond.

Our process is straightforward, confidential and coordinated through our London-based platform, from initial enquiry through to formal instruction, with administrative and practice-management support provided where appropriate.

Our Process:
  1. Identify Your Requirement
Review our practice areas to identify the specialism most relevant to your matter, including Commercial Law, Technology & Data Privacy, Banking & Finance, Construction & Major Projects, Energy & Infrastructure, and Cross-Border Regulatory Advisory
If you are unsure which area or practitioner is most appropriate, our team can assist in identifying the relevant expertise.

  2. Submit an Enquiry
Contact us through our website or at info@owusupartners.com, providing a brief overview of your matter, relevant jurisdictions, and requirements.
All enquiries are handled in strict confidence.

  3. Initial Assessment
We will acknowledge your enquiry, and where appropiate, arrange an initial discussion to understand your matter, objectives, and requirements. We may request relevant documents at this stage to ensure we identify the most suitable Associate Member for your instruction.

  4. Identifying the Right Member

Having considered the nature and requirements of the matter, we will identify the Associate Member or members whose expertise is most closely aligned with your needs.
Where appropriate, you may discuss the matter directly with the proposed practitioner before proceeding.

  5. Formal Instruction

Once the relevant terms of engagement have been agreed with the Associate Member instructed, the matter proceeds under a formal engagement.
Legal services are provided independently by the Associate Member, who remains responsible for the conduct and delivery of their legal services.

Advisory & Advocacy:
Our Associate Members provide both advisory and advocacy services across their respective practice areas:

Advisory: Legal opinions, contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory and compliance advice, transaction structuring, and strategic legal advice across domestic and cross-border matters.
Advocacy: Representation before courts, tribunals and arbitral panels, together with advocacy in other proceedings where the relevant practitioner has the appropriate rights of audience and professional authorisation.

Where appropriate, clients can access complementary advisory and advocacy expertise through Owusu & Partners Global, providing a coordinated approach to complex matters.

Cross-Border Matters:
For matters spanning multiple jurisdictions, Owusu & Partners Global can facilitate access to relevant practitioners across its international panel.
Our Associate Members may work collaboratively where a matter requires expertise across jurisdictions or areas of practice, enabling clients to assemble the appropriate specialist capability around the particular requirements of their matter.

Confidentiality:
All enquiries are treated in strict confidence. Submitting an enquiry does not create a lawyer-client relationship, nor does it constitute an instruction of any Associate Member. A formal professional engagement is established only when the relevant Associate Member has agreed to act and written terms of engagement have been agreed.
